Five foreign hikers, led by Taiwanese guide Joey, are forced off a trail near Hualien by “soldiers” claiming a military exercise. When a hiker is shot dead, the group realises the uniforms may be a lie — and that they’re being tracked through the mountains. With suspicion of a traitor inside the group, and the possibility the attackers are PLA special forces targeting a critical hi-tech facility, the hikers face an impossible choice: retreat and risk a catastrophic strike, or fight back and risk starting a war.
